Victoria Sushi

I’ve seen so many pictures of the amazing Aburi oshi sushi here but I never had the chance to check it out because the location can pretty much be classified as the “middle of nowhere”.

I happened to be in the area last weekend, so I figured no time better to check it out!

What I ate: Lunch Special (Oshi Bento – Miso soup, beef teriyaki, tempura, salmon oshi sushi (3 pieces) and mini green salad) ($11.50)

Heads up, this does not come with rice. It costs $1.50 extra for a bowl of rice. The bento was pretty standard. The beef was on the chewier side. Additionally, the service was so slow, when we finally got our rice (after inquiring multiple times), the beef was cold.

What I ate: Salmon Oshi – salmon, oshi sauce, jalapeno ($10)

What I came here for! This was a pretty good version of oshi sushi. It was flatter then Miku’s (no middle salmon filling), but for the price point this was a decent rendition.

What I ate: Basil Ebi Oshi – prawn, basil oshi sauce ($10)

I’d seen pictures of this with the olive, but I forgot to ask them to not include it. I’m not a huge fan of olives, so I ate these without, and I think I still prefer the Salmon Oshi. The pesto sauce they used was overwhelming on this, and the sushi tasted like a pesto pasta.

Overall Victoria Sushi has pretty good Oshi sushi offerings. It’s a bit out of the way, so if you’re in the area, I’d recommend this place, but it’s not necessarily worth the drive out.
