Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar

I know it seems like I drink a lot, but I really don’t! I just happen to get off work earlier than most people, hence the many Happy Hours.

I’ve been pretty excited to check out Boulevard for their Happy Hour. I’ve had their brunch before and I really enjoyed myself then (pre-blogging days).

What we drank: Gin and Tonic ($5) and Dickie’s Moscow Mule – Ketel one vodka, Dickie’s ginger beer, and lime ($6)

Pretty standard drinks. I appreciate that they actually served it in a copper mug, but I will say there was a lot of ice.

What we ate: Octopus ceviche – lime, cilantro, onion, tomato, chipotle tortilla chips ($10)

This was the dish that I was most looking forward to. I love octopus and this was a really yummy dish! The flavours were super fresh and bright, and the lime just had the perfect zing.

What we ate: House smoked salmon pâté – grilled sourdough, pickled red onion, capers ($9)

The presentation of this dish was so cute! I loved the little tin they used to serve the pâté in. It tasted a bit like Philadelphia cream cheese spread, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I liked the pickles on the side. My only wish is that there was more bread!

We also ordered a side of fries ($5), to round out the meal (got to have some kind of veg!)

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Boulevard. I would say of all the Happy Hours I’ve been to, they are definitely in my Top 5! I will definitely be back again to try their Galbi hot dog!
