Shanghai Morning Restaurant

I’m not the biggest fan of waking up early in the morning, but when there’s Shanghai food on the line, I will do my best.

Deviating from my go to Shanghai Wonderful, we decided to check out this restaurant which was recommended by a friend.

What I ate: Seafood Hot and Sour Soup ($8.95)

This was alright, not a whole lot of seafood and the portion size was pretty small.

What I ate: Shanghai Style Wheat Gluten ($6.95)

Pretty standard, good portion size, but a bit on the oilier side.

What I ate: Steamed Mini Pork Buns ($4.95)

This was really good! It’s almost as good as Shanghai Wonderful. There was a lot of soup in the dumplings, and the skins weren’t too thick.

What I ate: Rice Roll with Chinese Donut ($4.50)

I didn’t try this, but it looks very standard.

What I ate: Rice Cake with Shredded Pork ($10.95)

This was really good! There was very good wok hei without being too salty.

What I ate: Deep Fried Sesame Covered Pancake ($4.95)

What I ate: Baked Pastry with Beef ($4.95)

This was not good, there was barely a sliver of meat in the pastry. I would not get this again.

Would I come back? If Shanghai Wonderful was closed for the day and this place wasn’t too busy, I’d come back.
